This apartment in a historic tenement building reflects my love of vintage furniture and the original pre-war floors and doors that I found here. I combined some of my favourite colours with the warm tones of natural wood, creating an interior that is personal, distinctive and full of character.
The large windows bring plenty of natural light into the apartment, which allowed me to make the bold choice of painting the living room walls black without making the space feel dark.
The portrait above the sofa adds a particularly personal touch. It depicts my great-great-grandmother and is a reproduction of a painting by the Polish artist Henryk Rodakowski. The original is held in the collection of the Lviv National Art Gallery.
